Education

Education is not the purpose of the village but part of how it lives. At Kairos, learning does not happen at a separate hour in a separate place. The environment we live in is the environment we learn in, and the trial and error of living better is the lesson.

The word education originally meant not pouring in from outside but drawing out what is already within. Everyone is born able to learn. But that ability does not widen on its own; it grows only through friction with other people. So the village's education starts not from teachers and classrooms but from relationships and problems.

The method is the same for children and adults. Choose a problem in front of you, work out a way to solve it, find what you need, and leave a record of the result. A child has an adult alongside to help with the process; an adult has the problems of the village and the world beyond it. The more learning overlaps with life, the smaller the separate classroom becomes.
